Angie is 14 years old. She lives in the Rafael Nuñez neighborhood of Cartagena, Columbia with her parents, siblings and an uncle.
The entire household works together to contribute to the family’s income. Her father and uncle are welders while her sister and brother sell goods nearby. Angie’s mother is a housewife but she and Angie can also contribute financially through the help of Granitos de Paz and your generosity, UBS. Your donation provided Angie’s family with tools, seeds and training to start their own garden. Now, Angie and her mother cultivate cabbage, beans, cucumbers, melons, tomatoes, green onions and oregano.
Angie is in seventh grade at the Nuestra Señora del Carmen School in Cartagena. Angie and her family live in a house built with a wood and sand floor. She is an active, participatory and joyful person.

Cristian Bello Marzan is 15 years old and lives in the Rafael Nuñez Sector of Cartagena, Columbia with his mother, three sisters, and a brother. Their average family income is USD $200. Cristian’s mother sells lottery tickets to make ends meet.
Cristian participates actively in all the activities assoicated with Granitos de Paz’s organic gardening program. Your donation, Julian, will allow Cristian to learn practical skills in the garden and valuable life lessons.

Elizabeth is eleven years old and lives in the Olaya neighborhood of Cartagena, Columbia. She studies in the Central High School and is in 4th grade. She lives with her famly in a brick house that has electricity, water and garbage collection. The average monthly income for her family is $430.
Elizabeth is dedicated to her studies and gardening training sessions and she loves to create productive yards. She enjoys spending her free time helping her mother with the housework.

Bercilia is in 9th grade at the Foco Rojo School in Cartagena, Columbia. She lives with her parents and siblings in the Olaya Herrera neighborhood. The house where they live is built of wood and has a concrete floor. They have all public services except sewer and telephone.
When Bercilia finishes school, she wants to study hospitality and tourism.

Vanesa is 21 years old and lives in Cartagena, Columbia with her parents, a brother and her boyfriend. She has two daughters, one and three years old, respectively.
Her boyfriend is a mechanic and earns USD 250 per month. Vanesa´s mother works cultivating basil, mint, spinach and arugula and earns USD 250 per month. Vanesa´s father is a photographer and also receives the same monthly wage.
Vanesa spends her time studying occupational health, taking care of her children, and working in the productive garden project.

Kelly Johana Calao Segovia is a single mother with 2 sons and 2 daughters of 6, 3, 9 and 1 year respectively.
The only income generated in the family is from her father, who is engaged in bricklaying, obtaining an average of $500.000 monthly.They live in a house of wood with a sand floor, which has 3 rooms in which 10 people live. The only public service which it does not have is a landline.
Kelly is now devoted to housework and childcare. Thanks to your help, Kelly can better feed her young family.

Fausilly is 19 years old and lives in La Arrocera Streth in Colombia with her mother and three sisters in a wood house with ground floor. The family does have all public services, except sewage and a telephone system.
Fausilly is a manicurist and is not currently studying. Her mother is unemployed. Fausilly and her brother are responsable for supporting the family, and they eat twice a day.
