Ortega Family has received a gardening kit!

Glenis lives in the village of Manzanillo del Mar, near Cartagena. She is a member of the project “Patios Productivos” (productive urban agriculture). She cares for children while their mothers go to work.

In her spare time she works in her backyard, where she grows basil, eggplant, chilies, celery and papaya.

Her two children are in high school and her husband doesn’t have a permanent job. Her home garden gives them nutritious meals and generates an extra income.
